Richard Passley is on a mission to make New York City greener—turning barren spaces into lush oases that benefit people and local ecosystems. 

After gaining recognition for transforming a corner of his grandmother’s Florida yard into a lush food forest and pollinator garden, Richard realized his talent for botany could be turned into a career, and he hasn’t looked back since. As Folia’s installation manager, Richard ensures that every project is completed to the most exacting standards, and every planting has the support it needs to thrive in its new home. 

A voracious learner, Richard’s passion to deepen his knowledge has led him to certifications in carpentry, plumbing, solar PV installation, weatherization, and green building. Richard holds a degree in Biology and Sustainable Energy from Bronx Community College, and is an ISA Certified Arborist.
